STOP Playing it Small

STOP playing it Small...Part One

Ever get around someone else who just bothers you?  And when you get honest why, it’s because they are doing something or being someone that you too are capable of, but you never reached down deep enough to get it.

We roll our eyes, maybe cut them down with a humorous comment, but the truth is that their example is calling us out of our mediocrity — and it’s uncomfortable. We get angry at them, but we are really angry at ourselves.  We expected too little of ourselves.  Puke.

Why we play small
Sometimes we are lazy minded, most times we are afraid, but as I explain to most of my clients:

“TOO MANY OF US GET STUCK WANTING TO KNOW
WHY’ PROBLEMS EXIST INSTEAD OF GETTING BUSY
EXECUTING A PLAN FOR SOMETHING BIGGER”.

How do we know we are thinking Small?
  1. You are not passionate, you are in survival mode
  2. You hide your voice
  3. You crowd your life with insignificant s_it
How we can play BIG
We play big by thinking WAY beyond our capabilities, then building a blueprinted plan to lead us to our preferable future. Once the blueprint has laid the direction to the goal, we break down each segment into small measurable but achievable goals.  This last part is where most big goals fail.

Don’t get trapped into figuring out the deep dark reasons why you have not lived up to your potential – build a blueprint to something bigger than yourself and discover this ALONG THE WAY of your journey.

Failing is not catastrophic – but playing it small always is.

“Don’t judge those who try and fail, but judge those who fail to try.” – H. Jackson Brown
